Without clean water, women and children must walk miles to find water for their families. They are at risk of being raped, kidnapped and trafficked. But when clean water is nearby, they are safe. Instead of walking for water, they can walk toward a future with hope and promise.

When the choice is fetching water or going to school, children, mostly girls, miss out on education. But with clean water, they can attend school with their male counterparts and work toward fulfilling their dreams.

When hospitals have no clean water, medical procedures are not as safe, and patients often do not recover. But with clean water, they have a fighting chance to get well.

Without clean water, men move far away for work. But with clean water, they can find nearby farming and livestock jobs and stay close to home, safeguarding and caring for their families.

Without clean water, people are unable to practice basic hygiene. But with clean water, the dignity of taking care of yourself is restored.

Without clean water, children under 5 die at higher rates. But with clean water, babies and young children are more likely to survive and thrive past kindergarten.
