Peer Education for

Democratic Engagement

in Sierra Leone

After ten years of civil war the country of Sierra Leone  is struggling courageously to rebuild itself.  Many young people, who were recruited as child soldiers, still lack the necessary skills to contribute to society.  Our model of peer-led discussion groups will mean more students critically engaging with the material they are learning.   This process will develop stronger leadership skills among the students.  Learning to think critically will provide young people with the ability to participate effectively in their community and make wise decisions in later life.
